Mary Dalton watched weather reports and planned to "tough it out" with her two cats, Lucille and Raindance, in her rural Berkeley County mobile home. After watching Hurricane Matthew progress, she made a last minute decision to take seek Refuge at Cane Bay High School, where the Red Cross and its partners opened an evacuation shelter. Like so many others in Berkeley County's only pet-friendly shelter, she described her choice to leave her home as "all of us or none of us." Through teary eyes she expressed her gratitude to those who make the shelter possible. "God bless them."
